All for an internet connection

hi folks. Wondering what was so intriguing about the internet connection that provoked me to write this blog. I guess if you are a bangalorean you agree with most of the things i am about to say.

 Ok. As most of us do i also aspired to have an internet connection at home and the story began….

Trial#1:- Tata Indicom 256kbps Wireless connection. The first attempt was for the Tata Indicom 256KBPS wireless broadband. I called up these folks and followed up by giving the documents. Finally the black colour modem arrived and so came a surprising news that i have to wait one more day for getting the postpaid sim. That so pissed me off but still thought of waiting one more day. Finally after 3 days after some 30 calls i got my sim. I was so happy that finally i would be able to browse but as i connected the downloading speed which the so called tata indicom’s wireless broadband was offering was not even 1KBPS. You cant imagine how much pissed off I was at that stage i was. Spoke to the indicom manager and made him reverse the entire process. Gave the modem back and had a loss of 500 bucks slapped right across my face.

Trial#2:- Airtel’s Broadband connection. The second attempt made more sence to me because i had never heard anybody facing problems with the airtel broadband. Called them up and did the same thing as before. Handed them 1000 bucks cheque and hoped for the things to get settled. I guess i was overrating myself. Incame the suprise. The technicians fixed up the wires, handed me the modem and the instrument but finished it all saying that the DP is all full so i have to wait till the time someone in our building applied for a cancellation of the connection. I know it sounds pathetic but thats how its supposed to be i guess. Again the same thing, cursed myself and then again asked these guys to cancel the connection but believe me these guys were much better than that indicom’s department they handed over the 1000 cheque back after one month and i dint lose any money here.

Trial#3:- Sify Broadband connection. I dont know but i had made up on my ego that I had to get the internet connection. Made an attempt to call the sify guys. After some 3-4 attemps the call got connected to the phone number mentioned on one of their sites but couldnt find any option to speak to the representative. Made up another try on one another number and it went to some other guy who didnt even knew what is SIFY. So again a FAIL!!!

Trial#4:- The world is really small i tell you. Again called the Tata Indicom guys this time not for the 256kbps wireless connection but the 395KBPS antenna broadband. Finally some success this time I got the connection in about one week but more importantly a working connection. Though it still has some starting troubles to catch the radio frequency but ones it gets connected the speed is satisfactory. “Try and try till you die” philosophy worked for me i guess.

P.S.:- So guys if you are in bangalore and looking for a broadband connection. My advise is try for Airtel Broadband and if its not feasible go for the Tata Indicom’s antenna connection.
